“Grab your binoculars for this wild adventure! We’ll make colorful animal masks before we set out on our wildlife adventure. Using animal songs and video imagery, we will run with cheetahs and fly with exotic birds. This party is perfect for children who love animals, art, adventure, and imagination!”The teachers did a really nice job combining photos and videos of wild animals, yoga-like moves, and music to represent the different animals. The scenery painted on the enormous walls made it feel like we were outside on a nice warm day, instead of in a room in the middle of January in Chicago!
Shawn had fun making an elephant mask with Dadda. The glitter was a bit messy and the glue didn’t stick very well, but it was a fun project (and even better when someone else cleaned it all up!)
Speaking of messy, Shawn thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, fruit salad, the birthday cupcakes, and especially the paper animals that decorated them. He danced around carrying a monkey and an elephant for days after the party was over.
At the end of the party, there was an obligatory photo of all of Milan’s cousins and friends. Rounding them all up did feel a bit like herding squirrels! With the number of kids involved, I was amazed that we got any pictures at all, not to mention some pretty good ones.
