Lilly's first class

Lilly was invited to join the babies' class at Gymboree while Shawn had his music class. We used lots of props to stimulate our babies' senses- dry paintbrushes, mini shakers, a colorful parachute, a large mirror on the floor with whiffle balls rolling across it...
Even 'Gymbo' clown puppets. Lilly wasn't so sure what he was at first, but then it looked like she liked him.

I think Lilly may have found her left hand! (Otherwise she's gotten lucky & latched on to it every time it's come close to her face.) She slurps on her knuckles like they're a drippy ice cream cone & you can hear her from across the room!

Sometimes her right hand pushes her left hand into position - it's really funny!

A family portrait by Shawn

A family portrait: (from left) Daddy, Shawn holding Lilly, Mommy, & Baron. (The line connecting us is the basket that Lilly's in.) We're outside because Lilly wanted to sleep in the fresh air in the nice sun. The sun is red because it's early in the morning. There's a bluebird on our roof and on top of the tree. The red on the tree is an apple with a green stem that Mommy is holding for me. The circle in front of the house is Mommy's van, but Daddy's car is in the garage. The black line coming down from it is our driveway.
Love,
Shawn

(Mommy drew the house & tree, but I drew the rest.)

4 yo dr appt

Shawn was a total Rock Star at his dr. appt today! Dr said he needed 2 vaccines. So, while we waited for the nurses to come in, I showed him what they were going to do - a dry run. When it was time, he got 2 shots & he hardly even blinked - not a whimper, not a tear, all brave! He even watched the needles go in! (I don't like doing that!)

Lilly cried for him.

35 lbs (42%ile)
40" (43%ile)
80/50 blood pressure
Slight heart murmer, no concerns (may grow out of it)

I asked about his pronunciation, but she thought he was doing pretty well & doesn't get concerned about speech until age 5-7. So we'll just keep practicing g, k, l... sounds!
